- engaging in higher level thinking through a variety of projects: i.e. explain phenomena in terms of concepts (projecting 2D objects to 3D objects);
- create a hypothesis and use the scientific method to create, design, and build projects;
- develop and test prototypes and make necessary adaptations to meet design functions;
- apply mathematical calculations (i.e. algebraic and geometric solutions) for the purpose of design in architecture and engineering;
- identify specific artists' work, key features and form and critique their style;
- participate in district-wide art/design competitions (display work in school, at District Office and in local businesses); and

Student Eagles who participate in the art program make various interdisciplinary connections to other subjects. The Visual Arts Program enables students to expand their critical thinking and enhance focus building student stamina to attend for longer periods of time. The Visual Arts Program helps students develop their sense of responsibility and student capacity to see a project from a concept to completion. Students work on their organizational skills and neatness.
