P12X Sensory Rooms

Due to our collaboration with our Community-Based Organization (AHRC) and our collective efforts in conducting assets needs survey for our school and community, we have collaborated to create four sensory rooms across our sites. These Sensory rooms are aligned to our school's mission of providing a safe and therapeutic space to help our students with sensory processing disorders develop coping skills and an area to help with regulating their responses to stimuli and bringing them back to baseline.

These rooms also have an impact in decreasing negative behaviors and improving student engagements. These rooms also provide a safe space for staff to take a moment to decompress, so they may provide the best version of themselves to our students.

Thanks to our sensory rooms, we are providing a much-needed layer of support to our school community, especially our students with disabilities, including those with autism or a sensory processing disorder.
